Mike Beith
Prior to co-founding Washington State Tax Services, LLC, Mike was a Senior Manager in the Pacific Northwest Area State and Local Tax practice of Ernst & Young, LLP. In that role, Mike specialized in providing tax planning and consulting services related to Washington State B&O (Business & Occupation), sales, and use taxes.
Mike also spent 25 years with the Washington State Department of Revenue. In his time with the DOR, he held various positions including Audit Program Manager. He served as Washington's Audit representative to the Multistate Tax Commission from 1989 to 1995. In addition to performing his duties as Audit Program Manager, Mike acted as liaison between the Audit Division and other DOR divisions, such as the Executive Office, Legislation & Policy, Appeals, and the Research division. Among his many accomplishments while serving in this role, Mike was a crucial member of a stakeholder group consisting of state, county, city, taxpayer and industry representatives that was formed to resolve issues surrounding the 1995 manufacturing machinery and equipment (M & E) sales and use tax exemption legislation. Mike was instrumental in the development and adoption of rules related to the M & E exemption.

Forrest Bush
Forrest retired after 27 years with the Washington State Department of Revenue. He started out his career as an auditor in the Department's Vancouver office. During his last 17 years with the DOR, Forrest held various management positions within the agency. In 1990, he left the position of Vancouver audit supervisor to become Regional Audit Manager for the Audit Division's northern region. In that capacity, he was responsible for audit operations conducted from the Seattle, Kirkland, Everett, Mount Vernon, Bellingham, and Spokane offices. At the time of his retirement, Forrest had responsibility for the department's out-of-state audit program, the Vancouver and Spokane regional offices, the Computer Assisted Audit Program, the Account Review and Desk Examination Unit, and the Voluntary Disclosure Program.
As part of the Department of Revenue Audit Division management team in Olympia, Forrest helped develop tax policies and strategies for the division and the department. Forrest spent six years as the state's voting delegate for the Multistate Tax Commission's (MTC) Audit and Nexus Committees and he also spent 2 years as the chair of the MTC subcommittee for Sales Tax Auditing and Technology. Forrest served on the Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA) business/government taskforce that developed a paper on sampling in compliance auditing.
